The Job Hunt Continues...

SO, it has now been OVER a year since I received my bilingual multiple subject teaching credential. So far...NO jobs. Even though I've been applying to over 30 schools everywhere from LA to San Bernadino to Laguna Niguel...nothing yet.

I've interviewed at several places:
- El Sol Academy in Santa Ana for middle school English
- Canyon Lake Middle School in Lake Elsinore for math/science
- Grace Classical Academy (a private school) in Laguna Niguel for 4th grade

It's somewhat frustrating/discouraging but at the same time I'm thankful that God is closing doors where he doesn't want me. In the last year, I have gotten some great subbing experience including long-term subbing in 4th grade and 5th grade.

I have been encouraged by the fact that I got hired to teach for South Pasadena Educational Foundation for the summer. I got to write my own course curriculum and am teaching Spanish Language and Culture to incoming 5th-8th graders. I'm going to use food, music, dance and art to help the students get a good grasp about Spanish speaking cultures. :o) Hopefully I'll inspire them!

I'm going to start hand-delivering my resume, letter of intent, letters of rec packets to schools that I'm interested in...even though I know they aren't hiring at all. It's worth a shot! I just pray that God opens the door to what His will is for me. :o) I'm excited to see where He leads me!!!

Peace and Love.
